Dear All:

 First of all, let me appologize for not being able to write this email in Chinese. I hope you don't mind to let me write in English.

Secondly, I  don't have the email address for An Pao-Li and Liu Hsuien-Peng, although I have seen their pictures from the emails I received from Lin Sen-Cheng and Huang Tze-Yuan. So, if any of you please kindly forward this email to them.

I haven't seen any of you since we graduated from Kaohsiung High School  in 1958 except Ling Shu-Shi ( Warren ). I am glad to know that all of you seem to have done well. I do feel terribly sorry for not being able to join you all last year at the 50-year class reunion.

I was totally in shock, as well sadden, to see the terrible damages what typhoon Moraka had brought to Taiwan a month ago, especially to the counties of Kaohsiung and Pingtung. Some of the towns and villages sound so familiar to me. In fact, some of you might even live very close. My heart goes to all of you and hoping that you and your family are fine.

I was quite impressed with the responsiveness of many volunteers from Tzu-Chi, Fu-Kuan-Shan, Fa-Ku-Shan, and Catholic and Christian Churches to offer help at the first instant of the disaster, although the government could do somewhat better. Here in the US we can only offer our generous contibutions and moral suppurt to the daunting tasks of relief and reconstruction. In any event, we are absolutely confident that the people in Taiwan  can and will overcome this disaster a hundred percent.

This coming November I will be accompanying my wife to visit Taiwan for her college class reunion there. I would like to take this opportuniy to see you folks in Kaohsiung . Many of you I have seen for more than 51 years ever since we  parted. My wife and I plan to take the new express train from Taipei to Kaohsiung on either November 7th or November 8th to see you, depending on your convenience. I wonder if  Lin Sen-Cheng or Huang Tze-Yuan could help to coordinate and please let me know the preference. I shall finalize my itinerary accordingly.
